Who are you? Are you who others think you are?
Are you even the person you think you are?
You thought you knew but recently life has served you up a curveball that’s put everything in question. It has a way of doing that. Sending you whirling into uncertainty and at a loss of how to move in the world. Not sure what decisions to make, how to think, or what to believe.
Sometimes we know exactly who that person is buried deep inside, but we’re too scared to let them be seen. Afraid of the pain and rejection that’s sure to come. Certain of the disappointment that will be dished out by family and friends….
Because it’s no secret that people ‘like that’, are not accepted by society… they’re too weird…too out-there…too wrong.
So, you hide, and pretend, and smile, and go on living as someone else and it’s killing you.
How much longer can you keep this up? This being stuck between two horrible options—either getting rejected, shunned, or dismissed by everyone you know OR slowly dying on the inside because you will never be known and loved for the real you. It’s an unbearable position to be in.
Something must change…and soon!
Your 20’s and 30’s are all about solidifying who you are, what you believe in, and the life you want to lead. Now is the time to resolve this disconnect between who you are and who others see.
Becoming your true self might be the hardest thing you’ll ever have to do in life, but your life depends on it.
It all starts with making the space and opportunity to explore and clarify all the parts of you—in a space free from all the rejection and judgement--whether it be your gender, race, ethnicity, cultural background, spirituality, sexuality, career, or relationships. Only then can you start showing up, unapologetically, and be seen, respected, and loved.
I help young adults do just that. To get crystal clear about who they are, what they believe in, and the mark they want to make on the world so that they can get back to living a full life full of joy and purpose.
