QUEER MUSLIM THERAPY GROUP
A Safe Haven for Connection and Growth
Are you a queer Muslim in your 20s or 30s, navigating the complex intersections of faith, culture, and identity? Perhaps you feel isolated, carrying the weight of secrecy and fear. Maybe you’ve worried about the consequences if someone knew the truth about you—fear of rejection, judgment, or even harm.
The intersection of being queer and Muslim can feel like an impossible balancing act, leaving you longing for connection but unsure where to turn. You might be asking yourself, “Is there anyone out there who truly understands what I’m going through?”
This online therapy group is designed to provide a safe, confidential, and affirming space for queer Muslims (LGBTQIA+ Muslims) to come together, build trust, and feel less alone.
In this group, you’ll:
Find Safety and Understanding: Share your experiences without fear, in a space where your identity is protected and respected.
Break the Isolation: Connect with others who share the unique challenges of being queer and Muslim.
Explore Your Identity: Reflect on how your faith, culture, and sexuality can coexist, even when it feels impossible.
Tackle Life’s Challenges: Whether it’s relationships, family dynamics, or personal struggles, find support and strategies for moving forward.
This group welcomes queer Muslims (LGBTQIA+ Muslims) in their 20s and 30s, no matter where you are in your spirituality. Whether you are deeply connected to your faith, questioning, or have left Islam but remain part of a Muslim community, this space is for you. The group is an open and inclusive space for dialogue and exploration of religious beliefs, practices, and intersecting identities. It is not “Muslim therapy,” and no specific beliefs will be imposed. Instead, this is a place to connect, reflect, and grow alongside others who share similar challenges and experiences.
This is a small, closed group of 6-8 members, ensuring an intimate and trusting environment. The group runs in 12-week cycles, with a 2-week break at the end of each cycle.
During this break:
Continuing Growth: Members can recommit to the group and continue deepening their connections and personal work.
Safe Transitions: Those ready to phase out can leave the group in a structured way, knowing their time was meaningful and complete.
Welcoming New Members: New participants can join, integrating into an established, safe community under the guidance of a skilled facilitator.
This structure allows for continuity, safety, and opportunities to meet others while maintaining the group’s supportive foundation.
Led by a licensed psychologist experienced in supporting marginalized communities, this group is more than a therapy space—it’s a chance to build meaningful relationships, gain clarity, and feel seen as your whole, authentic self.
